In honor of Black History Month, the Saint Louis University community is hosting a series of events celebrating Black culture and achievements.

Black Alumni Association Prayer Breakfast
SLU’s Black Alumni Association will host the 33nd annual Ernest A. Calloway Black Alumni Association Prayer Breakfast from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Feb. 14, in St. Francis Xavier College Church. This event recognizes the enduring impact of Black alumni and carries forward a tradition of leadership, service and achievement within the academic community and beyond
This event is complementary but guests are encouraged to contribute $25 or more to support the Pioneers of Inclusion Scholarship Fund.
A Hundred Years of Black History: Health, Justice, and the Work that Remains
The Office of Ignatian Mission in Medicine will host A Hundred Years of Black History: Health, Justice, and the Work that Remains, at noon on Wednesday, Feb. 25, in the Learning Resource Center’s Pitlyk Auditorium. The event is open to learners, staff and faculty.
Fourth Annual Black History Month Gala & Awards Ceremony
The fourth annual Black History Month Celebration and Awards Ceremony will be hosted by the Cross Cultural Center for Global Citizenship from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, March 5, 2026, in the Center for Global Citizenship.
The purpose of this event is to recognize and celebrate the achievements and successes of the Black students, staff, and faculty at SLU. Six awards will be given at the ceremony including the Emerging Leaders award, Outstanding Graduate award, the Dr. Jonathan C. Smith Faculty/Staff Appreciation Award, the Gamechanger Award, and the Mkeka award.
