Inaugural Cybersecurity Champion Announced
Information Technology Services has announced the inaugural Cybersecurity Champion. Eric Royer, program director for distance learning in the Reinert Center for Transformative Teaching and Learning, is the first recipient of this recognition.
This recognition honors individuals who consistently champion proactive cybersecurity practices such as promptly reporting suspected security incidents, completing cybersecurity training, actively engaging in “Catch the Phish” challenges, and promoting best practices at SLU.
Royer was recognized for his commitment to cybersecurity by:
- Completing all assigned cybersecurity training modules.
- Detecting and reporting every simulated phishing attempt without clicking any malicious links.
- Consistently identifying and reporting real phishing emails to the SLU Aware team.
Royer's dedication to cybersecurity training and vigilant reporting of suspicious emails plays a critical role in preventing phishing attacks against the University.
