Fall Move-In Will Impact Parking on Campus

Saint Louis University will welcome its new and returning Billikens home to campus beginning Friday, Aug. 14. During this time, traffic will be heavy in the area around campus, and campus parking options will be impacted.

New Billikens will move in Friday, Aug. 14, while returning student Move-In is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 15 and Sunday, Aug. 16. Staff, faculty and students should consult the North Campus Parking Map in order to plan for getting to, from and around campus, and to be prepared to park in a new, temporary location during Move-In and Fall Welcome.

Where to Park

The entire Laclede Garage will be used as an unloading zone for students in the Griesedieck Complex and Grand Hall. After students have checked in and unloaded onto the main level, they will move their vehicles to the bottom level or to Olive Compton garage.

Laclede Garage permit holders should park in the Olive Compton Garage or other open surface lots from 6 p.m on Thursday, Aug. 13, through 7 p.m. Friday Aug. 14. Vehicles remaining after 6 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 13, will be relocated at the owner’s expense. 

Golf cart shuttles will be provided from the Olive Compton Garage to ease SLU community members' commute to and from campus from 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Faculty and staff should avoid the Laclede Garage and other surface lots during these dates, as students and their families move into the residence halls. Refer to the North Campus parking map for areas to avoid during Move-In. Permit holders should park in the Olive/Compton Garage during the closure.

Travel on Laclede Avenue will also be affected. Faculty and staff should avoid Laclede Avenue, which will be one-way from Vandeventer to Grand Boulevard on Friday, Aug. 14, for move in. There will be no westbound traffic between Vandeventer and Grand Boulevard.

Several of the universities lots will be closed to permit holders so that they can be used for students and parents to unload or park their vehicles. Permit parking will not be allowed in the following lots between 6 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 13, through 6 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 17.

Lots Closed for Move-In and Fall Welcome Activities

The following surface lots will be reserved for move-in starting at 6 p.m.  Thursday, Aug. 13, at 6 p.m. and will reopen on Sunday, Aug. 16, at 7 p.m.

Street parking restrictions and traffic adjustments apply on Laclede Street specifically from Spring Avenue to Grand Boulevard. Westbound traffic onto Laclede will be closed by DPS during move-in hours on Friday, Aug. 14.

Shuttles

Families will be asked to relocate their vehicles from the Laclede Garage upon unloading. If they are leaving campus, they will be advised to park in Olive Compton when they return. If they are simply moving out of unloading zones, they can park on the upper or lower levels of Laclede Garage. Shuttles from Olive Compton garage via golf cart will be run from 9 am to 6:30 pm

A shuttle for SLU faculty, staff members and other SLU community members will run on a 10-minute loop during move-in,  will run on Friday, Aug. 14, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. from Olive/Compton with stops at Busch Student Center and Pius Library. 

The Olive Garage Shuttle stop will be located on Olive Street by the main entrance/exit to the garage. Drop off will be in the Pius loop.
