Poster Winners Recognized at the Second Annual Healthy Aging Conference
Saint Louis University’s Geriatrics Workforce Enhancement Program (SLU GWEP) recognized outstanding student scholarship during the second annual Healthy Aging Conference, themed “The Roadmap to Longevity: Strategies to Thrive in Later Life.” SLU student Melina Tanuwidjaja was one of the poster winners.
The conference featured a poster competition showcasing innovative work in aging and geriatric care. Participants demonstrated creativity, research excellence, and commitment to improving the health and well-being of older adults.
Tanuwidjaja, a senior at Saint Louis University majoring in Medical Sciences, took first place in the Careers in Aging category. Her poster was titled: "Medicolegal Death Investigator." Michael Pollack, a third-year osteopathic medical student at A.T. Still University, took first in the research category. His poster was titled "Assessing Nutritional Barriers and Knowledge of Long-Term Care Facility Staff in Northeast Missouri."
The poster competition featured submissions reflecting a level of quality, innovation, and passion for the field of aging. Reviewers noted the thoughtful contributions presented by all participants and appreciated the diverse perspectives shared throughout the conference.
