and saw SLU make some history in the first-round opener.
Against the University of Georgia, SLU won big. The Billiken blew past the Bulldogs, 102-77, on Thursday, March 19, to advance to
the second round. The Billikens set all kinds of school records for an NCAA Tournament
game, including points (102), field goals (42), assists (27) and margin of victory
(+25). The 102 points were a KeyBank Center record in an NCAA Tournament game as well.
Fans celebrated the win and then got ready for the second round. The University of
Michigan awaited SLU. The top-seeded Wolverines came away with a 95-72 win on Saturday, March 21, to advance to the Sweet 16.
SLU finished the year with a 29-6 record. The 29 wins were the most in program history.
