Call for Speakers for the Starkloff Disability Institute's Universal Design Summit 8
Starkloff Disability Institute, in partnership with Saint Louis University, invites proposals for the upcoming Universal Design Summit 8 (UDS8), taking place Nov. 18–20, 2026, on SLU’s campus and online.
Since its founding, Starkloff Disability Institute has been a national leader in advancing Universal Design (UD). First launched in 2002, the Universal Design Summit is recognized as North America’s premier conference dedicated to inclusive design. The event convenes architects, engineers, developers, interior designers, disability advocates, and community members from around the world to explore innovative strategies that promote accessibility and equity in the built environment and beyond.
The 2026 Summit theme, “Emerging Advancements, Trends, and Technologies in Universal Design,” highlights the evolving landscape of UD across disciplines. Organizers emphasize that “technologies” is broadly defined, encouraging submissions that span research, policy, design innovation, and practical implementation—not solely technology-focused topics.
