ITS Names Student Cybersecurity Champion Award Recipient
Information Technology Services has named Jessica Amstadt asthe first student Cybersecurity Champion award recipient.

This recognition honors individuals who consistently demonstrate cybersecurity best practices, such as promptly reporting suspected security incidents, actively engaging in “Catch the Phish” challenges, and promoting best practices at SLU.
Amstadt, a nursing student, has demonstrated exceptional commitment to cybersecurity by:
- Detecting and reporting every simulated phishing attempt without clicking any malicious links
- Consistently identifying and reporting real phishing emails to the SLU Aware team
- Maintaining overall good cybersecurity habits
Amstadt's dedication to vigilant reporting of suspicious emails plays a critical role in preventing phishing attacks against the University.
