Volunteers Needed for Free Nutrition Counseling
Looking for practical, personalized nutrition support? Nutrition and Dietetics is looking for 18 volunteers to participate in a four-session nutrition counseling series led by senior dietetic students under the supervision of a registered dietitian.
Volunteers will work one-on-one with the same student counselor across all four sessions to explore goals, talk through what may be getting in the way, and develop realistic strategies that fit the volunteer's life.
Counseling can focus on things like:
- building balanced, satisfying meals;
- meal planning and eating well with a busy schedule;
- improving everyday nutrition habits;
- grocery shopping and cooking;
- understanding hunger, fullness, and eating patterns; or
- creating realistic routines that support health and well-being.
Sessions will be held in person at SLU on Wednesdays at either 10:30 a.m. or 11:30 a.m. on:
- Nov. 4
- Nov. 11
- Nov. 18
- Dec. 2
Participants must be able to attend all four sessions at the same time each week. Because students must have a registered dietitian present for supervision, organizers are not able to offer alternate appointment times.
What volunteers will receive:
- Four individual nutrition counseling sessions
- Personalized support from a dietitian-in-training
- Faculty/RD supervision throughout the program
- No cost to participate
Space is limited to 18 participants. Registration is now open.
