McPherson Earns Cyber Champion Award
Information Technology Services has announced Melinda McPherson as the latest Cybersecurity Champion.
This award honors individuals who consistently champion proactive cybersecurity practices, such as promptly reporting suspected security incidents, completing monthly cybersecurity trainings, reporting simulated phishing emails in “Catch the Phish” challenges, and promoting best practices at SLU.
McPherson, coordinator for Undergraduate Studies in Forensic Science, has demonstrated exceptional commitment to cybersecurity by:
- Completing assigned cybersecurity training modules.
- Detecting and reporting every simulated phishing attempt without clicking any malicious links.
- Identifying and reporting real phishing emails to the SLU Aware team.
McPherson's commitment to cybersecurity awareness and diligence in reporting suspicious emails play an important role in protecting the University from phishing threats.
