Volunteers Needed for Free Nutrition Counseling
Looking for practical, personalized nutrition support? Nutrition and Dietetics has nine spots available for a four-session nutrition counseling series led by SLU's dietitians-in-training under faculty supervision.
Over four Tuesday evening sessions from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. volunteers will work one-on-one with the same counselor to explore goals, talk through what is getting in the way, and develop realistic strategies that fit a person's life.
Counseling can focus on things like:
- Building balanced, satisfying meals
- Meal planning and eating on a busy schedule
- Increasing energy and improving nutrition habits
- Grocery shopping and cooking
- Understanding hunger, fullness, and eating patterns
- Navigating nutrition for general health and well-being
- Creating realistic routines that feel sustainable.
This is not a weight-loss program. The focus is on helping people build nutrition habits that support their health, needs, and goals.
Registration is now open. For questions, contact María José Romo-Palafox, Ph.D., assistant professor of Nutrition and Dietetics.
