Registration Open for Cannonball Conference

Registration is now open for the 2026 Cannonball Conference. The event is set for Thursday, October 22, in the Busch Student Center and will bring SLU staff together for a morning of reflection, connection, recognition and inspiration.

The conference is designed as a business casual, staff-focused event.  Staff members will not be required to use vacation hours or leave time to participate. Parking will be available in the Laclede parking garage for those who drive to the Busch Student Center.

What to Expect

Doors open at 8:30 a.m., with coffee, tea and water available before the program begins at 9 a.m. The morning will include welcoming remarks, a reflection on the story of the Cannonball, a leadership Q&A with President Edward Feser, Ph.D., and Executive Vice President and Provost Kathy Johnson, Ph.D. keynote remarks from Andre Norman, lunch and giveaways.

The event will conclude at 1:30 p.m.

Recognition Opportunity

“Shout Outs” have been a great tradition in past Cannonball Conferences.  This year, organizers are providing a fun and more visual way of paying tribute to colleagues across campus.

Have a colleague you want to recognize?  Want to say a few words about what SLU means to you? Have a photo from a recent SLU event you want to share?  A Tribute Wall has been created to add positivity.  Every tribute submitted will generate an entry for prizes at this year’s Cannonball Conference.

Food Drive

In partnership with the Staff Advisory Committee, organizers will collect food donations at the Wool Ballroom on Oct. 22 to support Billiken Bounty and Campus Kitchen. These efforts help support SLU students and members of the greater St. Louis community experiencing food insecurity. A list of most-needed items is on the Cannonball Conference SharePoint site.

Lunch and SLU Giveaway

Lunch will be provided at the conference, and attendees will receive a SLU giveaway. To help organizers plan accurately for food and shirt counts, staff are encouraged to reserve a spot online by Wednesday, Oct. 14.
