Summary
This intellectual property comprises a process for making a cryogel structure from silk fibroin. The resulting cryogel material is biocompatible and biodegradable, and has potential use in numerous tissue engineering applications as a cellularized or acellular scaffold. The macroporous structure of the cryogel material also makes it useful for a number of filtration applications.
