The Research Development Group (RDG) works with Saint Louis University faculty in all aspects of research program development, including idea generation, seed funding, project management and proposal submission. The group expands SLU's research capacity by simplifying proposal submissions, working with research-support colleagues, assisting faculty in developing strategies and skills for grant-seeking and building new research initiatives.
Driven by SLU’s vision for research (PDF), RDG is committed to creating an experience for our researchers that is characterized by the following:
- A vibrant, interdisciplinary research environment comprised of mission-driven, collaborative and ambitious faculty, research staff and students, with excellent research infrastructure and skilled support staff, leading to recognition for research excellence.
- Outstanding research support for exploring new ideas; finding collaborators and building research programs; finding and managing grants and diverse federal, philanthropic and industry funding; building innovative collaborations with external entities; and generating impact through publishing, publicizing and commercializing.
- A heightened research profile and reputation for SLU as a leading Catholic research university, recognizing its distinctive top-ranked research strengths that are inclusive, impactful and accountable, leading to recognition for preeminent scholars and scientists.
