English Language Center
SLU’s English Language Center works with any speakers of English, undergraduate or graduate, who need writing assistance.
Office of International Services
The University Office of International Services provides visa support, orientation sessions, an international student lounge and cultural events. For more information, view the International Student Handbook.
SLU will conduct placement testing during orientation to make sure you are in the program that is right for you. These tests include the Oxford Online Placement Test (OOPT) and the SLU Writing Examination (SLUWE).
The SLU Writing Examination is a placement exam for non-native English speakers. It measures language proficiency in writing, reading and grammar. The test is different for graduate and undergraduate students.
