Applications for 1818 Community Engagement Grant Program Open September 1
This year's 1818 Community Engagement Grants will be powered by Ameren, thanks to a generous $30,000 gift.
The 1818 Community Engagement Grant Program celebrates the over 200-year history of SLU giving back to the St. Louis community. Eighteen grants of $1,800 each are given to selected applicants to make a positive impact in the community in partnership with a local nonprofit organization. Grants are provided to groups of students, faculty and staff in partnership with local non-profits to address an identified need in the community.
Grant applications will open Tuesday, Sept. 1, and will close on Wednesday, Sept. 30.
A team of faculty, staff and students reviews applications, and the awardees will be announced in mid-October. At a poster session in late April, groups will present alongside their community partners on the impact their grant had on the St. Louis region.
Groups must complete an application and submit a project budget and timeline, as well as a letter of support from at least one community partner. All groups must have at least one community partner as a coapplicant and include SLU students in the initiative.
