University Community Invited to Provide Feedback for Two New Proposed Policies

04/19/2022

The University community has the opportunity to provide feedback during a 30-day comment period on two proposed new policies. The policies are related to staff flexible work and intellectual property ownership.

The policies and feedback forms can be found on the Policy Program website.

Staff Flexible Work Policy

Prior to the pandemic, the majority of our employees at the University worked on-campus in support of our student, patient, teaching, research, and administrative operations. However, the University recognizes that the application of flexible work arrangements offers advantages for both the University and our employees where these arrangements are operationally effective and do not compromise the fundamental values and identity of the University. Among the advantages of flexible work arrangements are Increased productivity and performance, relief of on-campus space constraints, increased job satisfaction, and recruitment and retainment of a highly qualified workforce. This policy establishes procedures to evaluate flexible work requests made by our employees and provides guidelines for employees and their supervisors for managing flexible work arrangements.

Intellectual Property Ownership Policy

This policy governs the ownership of Intellectual Property created at Saint Louis University. The purpose of this policy is to define the respective ownership rights of the University and its personnel, relative to Intellectual Property resulting from University activities.

Feedback on this policy will be accepted until  Friday, May 20, at 5 p.m. Send any questions to Michael A. Reeves, Ph.D. Chief Policy and Export Control Officer 314-977-5880 Michael.reeves@health.slu.edu.
