The Recognition Collective at SLU recently hosted the Fall Into SLU Spirit event for faculty and staff.

The Recognition Collective hosted an appreciation event for SLU faculty and staff on Tuesday, Sept. 22. Submitted photo.

The event was designed to allow members of the SLU community take a break, connect with colleagues across campus, and celebrate the season with donuts, apple cider, prize giveaways, and a SLU/fall-themed photo booth. Fall Into SLU Spirit took place on Sept. 22, across the north, south and law campuses.

The event was organized by the Recognition Collective, a cross-divisional group focused on fostering a culture of recognition, appreciation, and belonging among SLU faculty and staff.

Nearly 200 faculty and staff attended across the three locations, connecting with both familiar and new colleagues. Attendees shared that they appreciated meeting colleagues they had previously known only through email, stepping away from their desks for a break, and having an event designed specifically for faculty and staff. The fall weather was an added bonus.

The Recognition Collective continues to build momentum for faculty and staff recognition and appreciation through SLU Sparks, appreciation events, and other opportunities. To keep that momentum going, staff are encouraged to register for the Cannonball Conference and submit a tribute to recognize colleagues in a meaningful way as part of the conference.
