Billiken Days

The Billiken Family Network will host the inaugural Billiken Days from Friday through Sunday, March 27-29.

Billiken Days invites Billiken families, students and loved ones for a weekend of fun activities, programs and events that celebrate both the St. Louis community and the university. Traveling families can find a list of nearby accommodations online.

Billiken Day Registration in the Student Center

  • 3 to 6 p.m.
  • Families “Snap-in at SLU” to receive a memento to help them remember the weekend, as well as a family photo. 

Billiken Baseball vs. George Mason University

  • Free admission; students can attend all home regular-season games at the Billiken Sports Center by showing their SLU ID. Learn more on the Billiken Athletics website.

Saturday, March 28 

Engage

Billiken families will have the opportunity to learn more about the SLU community and its enriching history through a variety of optional activities. 

8 a.m. to noon:  Billiken Day Registration
  • Second floor Busch Student Center Lobby
  • Families “Snap-in at SLU” to receive a memento to help them remember the weekend, as well as a family photo. 

9 a.m. to 3 p.m.: Forest Park Adventure Bus Tour 
  • Buses will load at the loading circle on Laclede Ave., across from the Laclede garage, located near the residence halls.
  • The day begins with pickup at Saint Louis University (exact location TBD) as we set off on an unforgettable journey through Forest Park, one of the nation’s great urban parks.
  • Relax and enjoy a professionally guided luxury motorcoach tour through the park, featuring engaging stories of the sometimes raucous, always rule-breaking and undeniably inspiring individuals who helped shape the history of St. Louis.
  • Several photo opportunities will be included with brief stops off the bus. Together, these stops offer a perfect blend of history, art, culture and wildlife, making this Forest Park adventure a truly memorable St. Louis experience.
    • Featured stops (self-guided exploration):
      • Missouri History Museum: Discover the people, events and ideas that shaped St. Louis and the nation.
      • Saint Louis Art Museum: Explore world-class collections spanning centuries of creativity, from ancient cultures to modern masters.
      • Saint Louis Zoo: Enjoy time at one of the country’s premier zoos, home to hundreds of animal species and renowned for its commitment to conservation and education.
  • Moderate walking required
    • Museums: easy terrain
    • Zoo: primarily outdoors with slightly more difficulty
  • Food service is available at each location, with opportunities to purchase lunch or snacks
  • Cost: $17 (capacity 54)
9:30 to 10:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. to noon: SLU History Tour on Campus
  • Meet at Cupples House
  • From the Civil War to the Gilded Age mansions and lost communities of color, the place that is now the SLU campus witnessed some of the most pivotal, strange and tragic events to ever happen in St. Louis. (60 minutes; capacity 30)
2 p.m.: Billiken Baseball vs. George Mason University

2 to 4 p.m.: A Taste of Two Cities
  • Food and history walking tour through St. Louis
  • The tour meets at Dressel’s in the Central West End. Attendees may need to pay for parking
  • Join a St. Louis native, historian and professional tour guide on this leisurely two-mile walk through St. Louis’s fabulously chic Central West End neighborhood, while nibbling delectable and uniquely St. Louis treats.

5:15 p.m.: Mass
Join us at St. Francis Xavier College Church, 3628 Lindell Blvd., for Mass.
7 p.m.: BFN Trivia Night and Silent Auction
  • Join us for our 17th annual Trivia Night and Silent Auction
  • Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and trivia begins at 7 p.m.

Sunday Mass at St. Francis Xavier College Church

Join College Church for community Masses at 8 and 10:30 a.m. Student Masses will be held at 4:30 and 8 p.m.
