Military Student Admission

Achievement Through Knowledge

At Saint Louis University, we’re honored to serve students who have served in the U.S. military and to support students pursuing a military career. We recognize the experience, perspective and commitment that military-connected students bring to our classrooms, campus and community.

Whether you're transitioning from military service to college, continuing your education while serving, using military education benefits or considering a future as a commissioned officer, SLU offers resources to help you reach your academic and professional goals.

SLU is dedicated to providing a world-class education, outstanding faculty and academic advisers and flexible scheduling options. Our goal is to help military-connected students find an academic path that works with their experience, responsibilities and plans for the future.

Military Veterans

Transitioning from a military career to an academic environment can bring new questions and challenges. SLU is committed to helping veterans navigate the transition to college and make the most of their education.

Eligible students may have access to military education benefits and other opportunities that can help make their education more affordable. SLU participates in the Yellow Ribbon Program and works with the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs to help students understand and maximize their eligible military education benefits. Discounted tuition rates are also available for select programs.

Beyond financial resources, military-connected students can find community and support at SLU. The SLU Veteran Student Association provides opportunities to connect with other veterans and military-connected students, build relationships and access peer support. The organization also provides mentoring for students considering a military career or transitioning from military service to civilian life.

ROTC Programs

Students interested in serving as commissioned officers after graduation can participate in Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) programs while earning their SLU degree.

SLU participates in ROTC programs for both the U.S. Army and Air Force. Through ROTC, students can pursue their academic goals while developing leadership skills and preparing for a career as a military officer. Scholarship opportunities are available through both ROTC programs.
