Michael Lewis                                  

Interim Dean, College of Arts and Sciences

Dean Michael Lewis establishes the college’s goals and budgeting priorities, serves as liaison to other schools and the higher administration, deals with personnel issues, coordinates and evaluates chairs and program directors and develops rank and tenure recommendations.

April Trees

Associate Dean, Graduate Affairs

As associate dean of graduate education, April Trees oversees graduate student concerns. She also oversees the College of Arts and Sciences Graduate Faculty Selection Committee and monitors graduate program quality through assessment.

Gary Barker

Associate Dean, Undergraduate Affairs

As associate dean for undergraduate education, Gary Barker oversees undergraduate student affairs and curricular issues. He also works with the associate dean for planning and resources to monitor undergraduate program quality.

Donna LaVoie

Associate Dean, Faculty Affairs

As associate dean of faculty affairs, Donna LaVoie oversees program and department  reviews, learning outcomes assessment and strategic planning. She also oversees and monitors college resources in accordance with spending/budget priorities as established by the dean.

Janet Kuebli

Assistant Dean, Mentoring

As assistant dean of mentoring, Janet Kuebli oversees mentoring issues in consultation with College’s advising office. She is a co-chair of the College’s Faculty Mentoring and Advising Committee.

Also an associate professor in psychology, Dean Kuebli teaches courses that include Child Study and Observation and Disciplines and Practices in Psychology.  Her research focuses on child development and parenting. She is also the the director of SLU’s undergraduate program in psychology.  


College of Arts and Science  Staff

Becky Ball, Executive Assistant


Executive Assistant Becky Ball is responsible for event planning in the college, including workshops, faculty assemblies, and award ceremonies. Becky coordinates faculty promotion and tenure processes, as well as sabbatical applications. She manages new faculty needs, such as furniture and phones. Becky oversees Mellon requests, international travel requests, and manages Dean LaVoie's calendar.

Jane Beckerle, Administrative Assistant


Administrative Assistant Jane Beckerle coordinates the Outstanding Senior Award Ceremony, the College’s Fall Welcome Event and the pre-commencement program booklet. She also works with office staff members and other departments to process forms, transfer files and update academic information.

Jon Graser, Data Coordinator   


Student Records Assistant Jon Graser provides support for the associate dean for undergraduate education and the advising staff.  He assists with graduation verification and degree audit troubleshooting for college, runs graduation reports, facilitates Faculty Council communication,  and maintains physical and electronic files.

Delia King,Business Manager  


Financial Coordinator Delia King processes IT and grant-related purchases for the college. She is the Dean's Office liaison for activity insight reporting and oversees space and facility issues. 

Carol Murphy, Assistant to the Dean  

Assistant to the Dean Carol Murphy handles a wide range of administrative and executive support-related tasks. She coordinates many activities contributing to the efficient daily operation of the Dean's Office, including assisting with meetings and travel plans, collecting department and program annual reports and promoting professional relationships between the College and other units in the University.

Jeremy Nagle, Web Marketing Manager 


 Jeremy Nagle is responsible for the College's internal and external digital and print communications, as well as integrating the College Marketing Plan. He manages and coordinates all web-related projects for departments and programs within the College of Arts and Sciences and is the College liaison to the University’s Marketing and Communication Division and related University committees.

Cathy Zimmer, Business Manager  


Business Manager Cathy Zimmer manages all graduate education and sponsored program budgets. She also reviews and approves all eMOAs and EPAFS for positions funded from sponsored program budgets.
