Panhellenic Council

The purpose of the Saint Louis University Panhellenic Council is to encourage members to learn and grow through sisterhood and shared values.

The SLU PHC serves as the governing board for all the Panhellenic chapters on campus. Each chapter is a member of the National Panhellenic Council. Panhellenic chapters strive to create a sense of community for individuals through organizational and personal values. The Panhellenic chapters at SLU promote high academic achievement, leadership, community service and sisterhood. The Panhellenic community strongly emphasizes positive programming and a commitment to enacting change.

Panhellenic Council Recruitment Information

The Panhellenic Council supports both primary recruitment and continuous open bidding. Select chapters are participating in continuous open bidding (COB) in the Spring 2026 term. Check each chapter's social media to learn more about their COB process.

Primary recruitment will take place in September 2026. Registration will open in Summer 2026. There will be a nonrefundable registration fee of about $40 for primary recruitment. This fee covers expenses such as recruitment materials, events, giveaways and more. Registering and participating in primary recruitment does not guarantee a bid for membership.

Primary Recruitment

The Panhellenic Council hosts Fall Primary Recruitment at the beginning of each Fall term. The next primary recruitment will take place in September 2026. Prior to the process, we will host meet and greets, orientation, and a chance to learn more about the council and the recruitment process. More information will be available in Summer 2026.

Continuous Open Bidding

Outside of primary recruitment in both the fall and spring terms, select chapters participate in continuous open bidding (COB). A chapter participating in COB will typically advertise on its social media and host informational events.

Recruitment Requirements

Please review the eligibility requirements of Panhellenic Council Recruitment:

  • An individual is eligible to participate in the Panhellenic recruitment process if they are enrolled as a full-time undergraduate student. A full-time undergraduate student is defined as being enrolled in a minimum of 12 credit hours in the current academic semester.
  • An individual is eligible to participate in the Panhellenic recruitment process if they have a high school or college grade point average of above 2.50. However, each organization may have additional academic requirements.
  • An individual is ineligible to participate if they have been initiated into a national Panhellenic organization on any campus.

Panhellenic Fall Primary Recruitment Scholarship

This application has closed and will reopen in Summer 2026 for Fall 2026 Primary Recruitment.

Ten needs-based scholarships will be offered to waive registration fees for any person interested in participating in Panhellenic primary recruitment.

There are costs associated with fraternity and sorority life. You will learn more about that financial commitment during the recruitment process. Our fraternity and sorority life community seeks to mitigate as many barriers as possible to increase accessibility. If you follow through with the Panhellenic recruitment process and become initiated into a chapter, there are further scholarship opportunities available, such as the SLU Panhellenic Scholarship and chapter-specific scholarships. It is important to note that receiving a scholarship does not guarantee a bid from any chapter.
