Graduate Academic Affairs Committee
The Saint Louis University Graduate Academic Affairs Committee (GAAC) is the principal advisory body to the associate provost for academic affairs regarding graduate education.
It is generally concerned with the development, improvement and quality assurance of post-baccalaureate studies at SLU.

For each potential new academic program being planned, the governing dean must first submit a prospectus to the provost in the earliest stages of development — well prior to submitting any proposal to GAAC. This document includes a description of the process and the timeline for review.
A prospectus helps senior institutional leaders answer, at a very early stage of proposal development, this key question: Given our mission, strategic priorities, resource realities and market conditions, is this new program idea worth SLU pursuing at this time? The provost’s response to each prospectus will be provided in about one week, so faculty and academic leaders will quickly know if their idea warrants the work required for a full proposal.
Soon the prospectus will be available in the CourseLeaf CIM system; for now, please complete the MS-Word version linked above and submit it to academic.affairs@slu.edu.
The Office of the Provost, in partnership with the Office of the University Registrar, has implemented two online Curriculum Inventory Management (CIM) systems — CIM-Courses and CIM-Programs — to manage Saint Louis University's curriculum. These systems are designed to streamline the curriculum proposal process, including new course or program proposals, making changes to existing courses or programs, and ending courses or programs. All new course proposals and/or course changes should be submitted through CIM-Courses. All new programs, program closures or program changes should be submitted through CIM-Programs for college/school and university-level curriculum review.
