Graduate Orientations

It is strongly recommended that all new graduate students attend orientation. Students receiving an assistantship or fellowship are required to attend the Graduate Assistant orientations.

New International Student Orientation

International Student Orientation is designed to ease the transition to the U.S. and to SLU for all international students.

New Graduate Student Orientations

Two sessions will be offered on Wednesday, Aug. 21:

  • New Graduate Student Orientation: 8:30 a.m. to noon in the Baer-Fuller, Kelley and Lee Auditoriums.
  • New Graduate Assistant Orientation: Noon to 3:30 p.m. in the Baer-Fuller, Kelley and Lee Auditoriums. Students receiving an assistantship or fellowship for the first time are required to attend.

While not required, new graduate students are strongly encouraged to attend the New Graduate Student Orientation. This event serves as an opportunity to learn more about resources available to graduate students and to personally meet with staff from the Office of Graduate Education.

During the orientation, students can also attend the Welcome Information Fair where representatives from offices across campus — including Student Health, Financial Aid and Career Services — will be available to answer questions.

Refreshments and light snacks will be provided.
