2026 Graduate and Professional Student Welcome and Orientation
4 to 6:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 17
Start your semester by joining us for the Graduate and Professional Student Welcome and Orientation. Complimentary parking is available in the Olive-Compton Garage at the corner of Compton Avenue and Olive Street.
Whether you are new to SLU this fall or have already begun your graduate studies, the Graduate and Professional Student Welcome and Orientation is a great opportunity to connect with fellow students, meet faculty and staff, discover campus resources and kick off your graduate experience with confidence.
What to Expect
4 to 5 p.m.: Graduate and Professional Student Resource Fair
Stop by the Cook Hall Atrium to explore the many resources available to support your success at SLU. Meet representatives from campus offices dedicated to academic achievement, student engagement, wellness and more.
5 to 6:30 p.m.: Graduate and Professional Student Orientation
Join us at the Center for Global Citizenship for an engaging orientation designed just for new graduate and professional students. Hear from faculty, current students and university staff as they share tips for succeeding in graduate school and making the most of your SLU experience.

New Teaching and Graduate Assistant Orientation
9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 13
This required orientation for new teaching and graduate assistants provides information on important policies and guidelines relevant to graduate assistants. In addition, we offer a variety of workshops designed to help new graduate assistants thrive in their new roles. The workshops are open to all returning graduate assistants.
The 2026 New Teaching and Graduate Assistant Orientation will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 13, in the Richard A. Chaifetz Atrium in Cook Hall. Registration and check-in will begin at 8:30 a.m. Opening remarks will begin promptly at 9 a.m.
Parking is available in the Olive-Compton Parking Garage at the corner of Compton Avenue and Olive Street on SLU's North Campus.

New International Student Orientation
New International Student Orientation provides information about campus resources, immigration and compliance. Participants can also meet faculty and connect with other new international graduate students.
