The cover of the 2021 Impact Report pays tribute to the University’s Center for Vaccine Development and the hundreds of St. Louisans who volunteered to participate in one of the center’s COVID-19 trials in the past year. The graph on the cover and the corresponding inside page represents the more than 400 volunteers who enrolled in the Moderna trial at SLU. SLU was one of the most highly enrolled sites in the Moderna trial, which included sites across the country.
The inaugural issue of the Annual Impact Report was published in 2020. It covers the first two years of the SLU Research Institute.
The issue introduces a number of new initiatives launched with support from the Research Institute and highlights the various mechanisms for support that the Research Institute manages, including the Big Ideas competition, the Research Growth Fund and the Research Institute Fellows program. The issue also sheds light on how SLU researchers persevered through the historic challenges of 2020, guiding their existing research programs through unprecedented challenges while making meaningful contributions in the fight against COVID-19.
Future Issues
Work on the 2023 issue of the SLU Research Institute Annual Impact Report will begin in summer 2023. The issue will cover research successes from September 1, 2022 and September 1, 2023.
