Health and Wellness Benefits

Saint Louis University provides comprehensive health and wellness programs that support you and your family.

As a full-time faculty or staff member at Saint Louis University (working at least 32 hours a week) your health benefits include insurance options for medical, dental, vision, life, accidental death and dismemberment, and accidents. We also offer options for a Healthcare Saving Account (HSA), Healthcare Flexible Spending Account (FSA) and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account (DCFSA).

Your benefits elections are effective as of your first day in a full-time position, typically your hire date. You have 31 days to make your elections. After your initial 31-day enrollment period, the only time to make changes or enroll yourself or add a dependent to your plan is at open enrollment, or upon a qualifying life event such as birth, adoption, marriage or loss of coverage under a different plan. Open enrollment takes place every fall. Any open enrollment changes take effect on January 1.

Eligibility and Dependent Documentation Requirements

In addition to yourself, you may also cover your eligible dependents. Dependent eligibility and documentation requirements are shown below. Please see the Add Dependent Job Aid if you need any assistance entering the request in Workday.
