The Journey to Workday Continues

In September 2018, Saint Louis University announced our selection of Workday as our next administrative system, replacing the current Banner system. Workday’s Human Resources modules went live in January 2020, and the Finance modules are on track to go live July 1, 2020.

The move to Workday will provide more modern tools while enabling improvements to University business processes. Our goal in making this change is to strengthen the University by implementing innovative, best-in-class tools and processes aligned with our academic, research and patient care excellence.

Workday Financials provides real-time business insights, increased efficiencies and accountability, and more visibility and control into our financial information.

Within Workday, you will have access to over 50 step-by-step job aids to assist you with everyday tasks. You can access job aids by clicking the icon on your main Workday page.

  1.  Open a Browser and go to
  2. Click the "Submit a Service Request" button
  3. Click on "Human Resources" on the left side of the screen
  4. Click "Workday Questions" and complete the form with as much details as you can.
Phone Support

For Workday questions please call the ITS Help Desk at 314-977-4000 and select option 1 for "All Other Issues" and Blackboard is prepared to triage your issue. If Blackboard is unable to resolve on the phone, they will submit a ticket for HR to assist.


About the Workday Implementation

The Workday implementation at SLU is a complex, multi-year program to improve the way we make mission-driven decisions. To do this, we are replacing the University’s core human resources (January 2020), finance (July 2020) and student (TBD) administrative systems with a single, central, integrated system located “in the cloud.”

More simply put, we are creating a University-wide data source that allows our people to access information in real time through the internet. In addition, having the system “in the cloud” allows SLU to continually upgrade and enhance our administrative system capabilities as Workday regularly releases enhancements and new features.
